ABC Radio Interview: Minna Muhlen-Schulte
Minna Muhlen-Schulte, GML Senior Heritage Consultant and Historian, has been interviewed about her documentary Crossing Enemy Lines on ABC Radio’s The History Listen.
In 2017, Minna produced the documentary about her fascinating family history. It pieces together the lives of her Australian-born grandmother, Muriel, and her German-born grandfather, Achim, with their young son Michel (Minna’s father) in 1930s Germany. Achim’s letters, Muriel’s memoir and family interviews were used to explore the family’s experience of World War II, including the disappearance of Achim. In her interview, Minna discusses writing family history and some of the challenges it presents.
