Community Heritage
Understanding the connections between people and place.
Our communities are diverse. We work with many different communities, recognising that inclusion and engagement enrich our understanding of the myriad cultural and social values that connect people to place.
We listen to community members to understand their stories, their concerns and their visions. We develop approaches that recognise and reflect the diversity of community values. This includes everyday practices, rituals, beliefs and traditions that are linked to special places, ensuring these are acknowledged, respected and thoughtfully integrated into heritage planning, management and decision-making.

“Heritage management is about putting people and values at the centre of decision making and recognising that there is not just one story being told.”
