GML Wins at 2020 National Trust Heritage Awards
We are so proud that GML has won two awards at the National Trust Heritage Awards (NSW) 2020.
Marrickville Library and Community Hub achieved the top honour—the Judges’ Choice Award—along with the Award for Adaptive Reuse. Congratulations to the Inner West Council for their vision and commitment to this incredible project, as well as the many partners involved in its design and construction. Congratulations to our dedicated team, especially Principal, Catherine Forbes, and Associate, Anna Simanowsky.
The Awards are fitting acknowledgement for a project that has transformed historic, unused buildings into a thriving community hub. The recognition is especially significant given the record number of award submissions this year.
GML was involved with the project from inception in 2011 through to completion. We worked closely with the design and construction teams, and with Council, to help bring the heritage of the place to life within the new community facility.
This is one of many accolades the project has received, winning the Award for Public Architecture and Sustainable Architecture at the recent Australian Institute of Architects Awards. Learn more about the project.
