Declan MacGinley Jamieson
Graduate Heritage Consultant, Archaeologist
Declan MacGinley Jamieson, GML Graduate Heritage Consultant and Archaeologist, is an early career heritage professional and archaeologist.
He has an academic background in archaeology and biology and is a capable and passionate researcher. Declan holds a Bachelor of Archaeology and Biological Anthropology from the Australian National University and a Master of Archaeology specialising in Advanced Research and Professional Archaeology from La Trobe University.
In his undergraduate degree Declan conducted fieldwork in the United Kingdom and specialised in zooarchaeology, biological anthropology and archaeological theory. As part of his Master degree Declan specialised in advanced research and professional archaeology in Victoria, which included the preparation of CHMPs and work under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 and the Heritage Act 2017.
He possesses experience in archaeology, heritage, research, project management and public engagement. He has worked on small and large-scale excavations, surveys, report writing and artefact processing.
At GML, Declan works on a range of archaeological and heritage projects at all stages, contributing to background research, report writing and fieldwork.
