GML Heritage is seeking a motivated and curious Graduate Heritage Consultant to join our Melbourne team.

About the role
This entry-level position, based in our Melbourne office, is ideal for a recent graduate seeking to start a career in heritage consulting. You’ll gain hands-on experience across all aspects of consulting while working alongside industry-leading professionals in architectural, urban design, planning and landscape heritage.
You will:
- Assist in preparing heritage reports, mapping, graphics and analysis.
- Undertake research and site-based fieldwork to support project delivery.
- Contribute to fee proposals, project administration and client correspondence.
- Read and interpret project design drawings including architectural and urban plans and apply design knowledge to heritage outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects ranging from conservation management plans to heritage impact assessments and heritage advice.
- Develop your skills by participating in GML’s graduate development program for your first 1–2 years, working full-time in our Melbourne office.
About you
- A recent graduate of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Planning or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications in heritage conservation will be highly regarded.
- Interested in heritage places, urbanisation, sustainability and the challenges of climate change adaptation.
- Skilled in spatial thinking, design analysis and reading architectural plans.
- Proficient in graphics, mapping and visual communication tools.
- A strong communicator with excellent writing, research and interpersonal skills, eager to contribute collaboratively in a team environment.
- Organised, adaptable and motivated to build a career in heritage consulting.
