Victorian Water Supply Heritage Study
The history of Victoria’s water supply is integral to the story of the state’s economic and social development.
Context (now GML Heritage) identified and assessed the places and landscapes across the state that most reflect this resource heritage.
The completed study included a thematic history prepared by historian Helen Doyle which identified and mapped over 800 key places.
It provided a tool for Heritage Victoria, along with local communities and water supply authorities such as Melbourne Water, to make informed decisions about how these places and landscapes will be managed in the future.
