Ngootyoong Gunditj, Ngootyoong Mara Management Plan
This project identified and recorded how communities value the cultural heritage and landscape to guide the way it is managed.
This was a partnership between Parks Victoria, the Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation and Budj Bim Council, covering the Gunditj Mirring Registered Aboriginal Party area in the South West of Victoria.
Context (now GML Heritage) prepared a Land Use History and Archaeological Synthesis for the entire study area and a collection of data on known places of Indigenous and ‘shared value’ significance in the project geographic information system (GIS).
This provided a basis for community mapping and the development of management recommendations through consultation with the Traditional Owners.
